We propose novel research with the potential to advance the nuclear energy mission with creative approaches to integrating research, education, and service that nurture the reciprocal relationship among these activities towards impactful discoveries, and technological advancements. CANUT II concentrates the world-unique resources (HR, infrastructure, etc.) of leading Czech universities and R&D institutions. The R&D teams have unique composition combining experts from different areas from physics, chemistry, mathematics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, ICT, computer science, cybernetics, economy, etc. The industrial partners in CANUT II are the key players in the Czech nuclear energy industry. CANUT II opens the consortium for innovative SMEs. The background of the center and the strategic resources available for participating SMEs can help to part of the supported SMEs to become new innovation leaders which is one of important targets of this project. We would also like to stimulate the foundation of new start-ups which is very difficult to launch on the nuclear technology market.
